As a Transmit / Receive Front-End Module(FEM)， the SKY77916-11 SkyLiTE? supports 3G / 4G handsets andoperates efficiently in WCDMA， TD-SCDMA， and_LTE modes. Themodule is fully programmable through a Mobile Industry ProcessorInterface (MIPI?).By design， this Tx-Rx Front End Module offers a complete transmitVCO-to-Antenna and_Antenna-to-receive SAW filter solution foradvanced cellular handsets comprising quad-band_GSM and_linear 2.5Goperation. Developed in a compact form factor， it features a very lowprofile of 0.8 mm (Max.). The SKY77916-11 supports Class 12 GeneralPacket Radio Service (GPRS) and_EDGE multi-slot operation， and_TD-SCDMA and_TDD LTE linear transmission. Fourteen transmit / receive(TRx) ports and_an integrated directional coupler enables broadband3G/4G RF switch-through.The module consists of a CMOS Power Amplifier (PA) Controller， a lowband_(LB) PA block to support GSM850/900 bands and_a high band_(HB)PA block to support DCS1800/PCS1900， TD-SCDMA bands 34/39， andTDD LTE band_39. Also included are RF ports internally matched to 50ohm impedance loads， Tx harmonic filtering， RF switching， and_adirectional coupler at the antenna output. The custom low-current PAcontroller includes the Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI?) anddecoder circuitry to control the RF switch.All RF ports are internally matched to 50 ohm impedance to minimizeexternal components on the phone board. The GaAs fabricatedHeterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) PA blocks share common powersupply pads to distribute current. Extremely low leakage current of theSKY77916-11 maximizes handset standby time. Fourteen TRx pads andthe PA outputs connect to the antenna through a high-linearity， low-lossswitch. The TRx ports feature a 0 volts DC offset level that eliminatesexternal blocking capacitors. An integrated directional couplerprecludes any external coupler requirements.The GaAs die and_the switch die， the CMOS controller， and_passivecomponents are mounted on a multi-layer laminate substrate with theentire assembly encapsulated with plastic overmold.
