当检测到与多数字LED数码管的每个引脚对应的段时，万用表选择R*10K档位。对于公共阳极数码管，黑色引线连接到特定位置的公共电极，红色引线连接到其引脚。如果数码管返回微弱的亮光，如a段中的亮光，则表明连接到红色引线的引脚连接到a段LED的负极。对于公共阴极数码管，红色引线连接到某个位置的公共电极，黑色引线连接到其他引脚。如果在数码管的某个段上发现微弱的光，则黑色探针的引脚连接到LED段的正极。
