The SCH5027 is a 3.3V(Super I/O Block is 5V tolerant) PC99/PC2001 compliant Super I/Ocontroller with an LPC interface. It includes Hardware Monitoringcapabilities, enhanced Security features, Power Control logic andMotherboard Glue logic. There are fouranalog inputs for monitoring external voltages, and internal monitoring ofthe SIO’s VCC (emulated power well), VTR (signal power well), and VBATpower supplies. It can also monitor two external diodes, one internal ambienttemperature sensor or retrieving temperatures from externalprocessors that implement the PECI (Platform Environment ControlInterface). Complete legacySuper I/O functionality including a floppy disk controller withSMSC's true CMOS 765B core and enhanced digital data separator are incorporated.The true CMOS 765B core provides 100% compatibility with IBM PC/XT andPC/AT architectures and is software and register compatible with SMSC'sproprietary 82077AA core.
