描述 Description

The SCH5017 is a 3.3V(Super I/O Block is 5V tolerant) PC99/PC2001 compliant Super I/Ocontroller with an LPC interface. It includes Hardware Monitoringcapabilities, enhanced Security features, Power Control logic andMotherboard Glue logic.

Provides support formonitoring two external temperatures via thermal diode inputs and aninternal sensor for measuring ambient temperature and allows for a two- orthree-piece linear fan function. Complete legacy Super I/Ofunctionality including a floppy disk controller with SMSC's true CMOS(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) 765B core and enhanced digitaldata separator are incorporated. The true CMOS 765B core provides 100%compatibility with IBM PC/XTTM and PC/ATTM architecturesand is software and register compatible with SMSC's proprietary 82077AAcore. Additionally, it supports multiple low power-down modesand incorporates sophisticated power control circuitry.
