描述 Description

The M02029 is a multirate 2.5 Gbps TIA supporting data rates between 100 Mbps to 3.125 Gbps intended for optimal system performance in applications that require use of an avalanche photodiode (APD). With a wide input range, the M02029 supports a large variety of transmission distance requirements. The M02029 has a typical input overload of 4 mApp enabling it to support short-haul fiber optic systems and loop-back requirements. Additionally, possessing a typical input sensitivity of -35 dBm using an APD allows the detection of very small signals in noisy environments making it ideal for high split ratio PON networks. In order to satisfy such high sensitivity and optical overload requirements, the M02029 includes automatic gain control (AGC). The AGC monitors the output amplitude and automatically reduces the TIA gain when the photodiode current exceeds the AGC threshold, maintaining the output at a constant amplitude level for input signals exceeding the AGC threshold. An accurate replica across the entire dynamic range of the M02029 of the average PINA input current is available at the MON pad (Mon_Sel floating) for photo-alignment and RSSI average power monitoring.
