FDC37B72x provides an integrated keyboard interface, SMSC's true CMOS 765B floppy disk controller,one Multi-Mode parallel port (includes: ChiProtectTM circuitryplus EPP and ECP support), soft power management, SMI support, andIntelligent Power Management (includes: PME and SCI/ACPI support).

CMOS 765B core provides 100%compatibility with IBM PC/XTTM and PC/ATTM architecturesin addition to providing data overflow and underflow protection. Bothon-chip UARTs are compatible with the NS16C550A. The parallel port iscompatible with IBM PC/ATTM architecture, as well as EPPand ECP. This product incorporates sophisticated power control circuitry(PCC) which provides support for multiple low power down modes. Itincludes keyboard, mouse, modem ring, power button support and otherwake-up events.

The device provides for therecommended functionality to support Windows '95/’98 and PC98/PC99.Through internal configuration registers, each of the FDC37B72x's logicaldevice's I/O address, DMA channel and IRQ channel may be programmed.
