描述 Description

The uP9508Q is an IMVP8 compliant desktop CPU voltageregulator controller that integrates a 3-phase PWMcontroller for Vcore and a 2-phase PWM controller forVccGT. The Vcore controller can be configured as 3/2/1-phase, and the VccGT controller can be configured as 2/1-phase for platform power design flexibility. This part outputsPWM signal to external MOSFET driver to drive the buckpower stage. The integrated SMBus interfaceprogrammability makes this part with high performance andeasy design. Designer can define different power scenariofor different current states to optimize the performance andefficiency.

The uP9508Q combines true differential output voltagesense, differential inductor DCR current sense, input voltagefeedforward sense and adaptive voltage positioning to provideaccurately regulated power for desktop CPU. It adopts uPI’sproprietary RCOT+TM (Robust Constant On-Time) topologyto have fast transient response and smooth modetransition. Similar to digital based PWM controller, the loopgain is also programmable by SMBus interface to achievedesign flexibility.

The uP9508Q provides system input power monitor (PSYS)ADC, VR_RDY indicator and selectable VR parameters,such as SVID VR address, SMBus device address andVboot voltage. It also provides complete fault protectionfunctions, including over voltage, under voltage, over current,over temperature and under voltage lockout. The uP9508Qis available in VQFN6x6 - 52L package.
