is a high performance linear regulatorwith very low dropout voltage and excellent transientresponse. It is designed to operate with wide inputvoltage range of 1.5 - 7Volts making it ideal for twostep conversion while maintaining high efficiency formany power sensitive applications. The device iscapable of supplying 3A of output current with atypical dropout voltage of 700mV at 3A. The productis available in either fixed or adjustable outputvoltage.The linear regulator has been optimized for noisesensitive applications. The device includes anoptional enable pin for electrical on/off of theregulator. Forcing the enable pin to logic low shutsdown the LDO and reduces the supply current toless than 1µA.The product includes complete short-circuit andthermal protection. The combination of these twointernal protection circuits gives the device acomprehensive safety system to safe guard againstextreme adverse operating conditions.The AMS3132 is available in a 5-pin surface mountTO263 package, and it is rated for -40°C to+125°C temperature range.
