Third-generation architectural enhancement to Broadcom's industry-leading Multicore, Multithreaded XLR® Processor family.The Broadcom XLP® 800 Series Processors are highly scalable devices that incorporate key functions of a high-end communication system, including wired and wireless security, networking, storage, data center acceleration, load balancing and other acceleration engines. The XLP 800 Series Processors are fabricated using 40 nm technology and offer processor core frequencies from 500 MHz to greater than 1.5GHz, providing a 3x performance-per-watt improvement over their XLR® predecessors. The XLP800 Series is software backward-compatible with the XLR and XLS® Processor families. The XLP800 Series includes:
XLP832 with 32 virtual CPUs
XLP816 with 16 virtual CPUs

·The XLP800 Series Processors contain a high-performance memory subsystem with four on-chip 72-bit DDR3 memory controllers with 51.2 GBps (Gigabytes per second) of bandwidth
