DisplayPort 2:1 Multiplexer, DisplayPort v1.2 and Dual-mode compatible
The PS8331 is an integrated DisplayPort 2:1 multiplexer that is compatible with DisplayPort 1.2 and dual-mode DisplayPort signaling. DisplayPort link rates up to 5.4Gbps are supported as well as Fast AUX. When used for native DisplayPort signaling, the PS8331 will serve as a redriver by link training with the downstream DisplayPort Sink. When used with a dual-mode upstream Source, PS8331 supports the use of AC coupled TMDS signaling up to a 300MHz TMDS clock rate, enabling the support of DVI or HDMI Sink devices through the use of a downstream level shifter device or external dual-mode cable adaptor.

Automatic output squelch during TMDS signal loss during dual-mode operation
