The LT®8210-1 is a 4-switch synchronous buck-boostDC/DC controller that can operate in pass-thru mode,forced continuous conduction, or pulse-skipping mode.Pass-Thru is a feature that passes the input directly tothe output when the input is within a userprogrammable window. Pass-Thru mode eliminatesswitching losses and EMI while maximizing efficiency.For input voltages above or below the pass-thruwindow, the buck or boost regulation loops maintainthe output at the set maximum or minimum values,respectively. The LT8210-1 is pin compatible with theLT8210. The IMON pin on the LT8210-1 has an ISHAREfunction, which allows for masterless current sharing.

Multiple LT8210-1 can be connected in parallel forhigher output current and reduced voltage ripple. Amasterless closed loop current sharing loop balancesthe current per phase and allows phase shedding.Optional reverse input protection down to -40V can beimplemented with the addition of a single N-channelMOSFET. The LT8210-1 includes a precision currentsense amplifier that can accurately monitor and limitoutput or input average current.
