描述 Description

The DS28E54 secure authenticator combines FIPS 202-compliant secure hash algorithm (SHA-3) challenge andresponse authentication with secured electricallyerasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM).

The device provides a core set of cryptographic toolsderived from integrated blocks, including an SHA-3engine, 2.25Kbit of secured user EEPROM, adecrement-only counter, and a unique 64-bit ROMidentification number (ROM ID), all while remainingreverse compatible to the DS2431/DS28E07.

The unique ROM ID is used as a fundamental inputparameter for cryptographic operations and serves asan electronic serial number within the application.

The device communicates over the single-contact 1-Wire® bus.The communication follows the 1-Wire protocol, with theROM ID acting as the node address in the case of amultidevice 1-Wire network.
