Switching  to  CM6802A/B/AH/BH  from    your  existing CM6800 family boards can gain the following advanced performances:

 1.)   Around2%efficiencygain whentheoutputloadis below40%ofthefull load.

 2.)   Hold Uptimecanbeincreased~ 30%fromthe existing6800 powersupply.

 3.)   420V bulk capacitor value may be reduced PFC boost ripplecurrentcanbereduced;therefore,the boostinductorcore      sizemaybereduced.

 4.)   NoLoadConsumptioncan bereduced 290mWat270VAC.

 5.)   PWMtransformersize canbesmaller.

6.)    Todesign12V,5Vand3.3Voutputfilterscan be easy.

 7.)    Thestressovertheentireexternalpowerdeviceis reducedand EMInoisemaybereduced.

 8.)   Monotonic Output design is easy and more¡KOf cause,thecostwillbereduced.

 CM6802A/B/AH/BHispinto pincompatiblewithCM6800family.

  BesideallthegoodiesintheCM6800,itisdesignedtomeet the  EPA/80+  regulation.  With  the  proper  design,  its efficiencyofpowersupplycaneasily approach85%.

TostartevaluatingCM6802A/B/AH/BHfromtheexiting CM6800,CM6800AorML4800board,6thingsneedtobe takencare beforedoingthefinetune:

1.)  ChangeRAC resistor(on pin2,IAC)fromtheold valueto ahigherresistorvalue between4.7Mega ohmsto8Megaohms.

 2.)  ChangeRTCTpin(pin7)fromtheexistingvalueto RT=7.75K   ohm   and   CT=1000pF   to   have fpfc=55Khz,fpwm=55Khz,frtct=220Khz.

3.)  Adjust allhighvoltageresistoraround5megaohm orhigher.

 4.)  VRMS  pin  (pin  4)   needs  to  be  1.125V  at VIN=85VACforuniversalinputapplicationfromline input from  85VACto270VAC.Bothpolesforthe Vrms   of    the   CM6802A/B/AH/BH   needs   to substantiallyslowthanCM6800about5to 10times.

5.)  Atfullload,theaverageVeaoneedstoaround4.5VandtherippleontheVeao needstobelessthan250mV.

 6.)  SoftStartpin(pin5),thesoftstartcurrenthasbeen reduced from CM6800¡¦s  20uAto CM6802A/B/AH/BH¡¦s10uA.SoftStartcapacitorcan be reduced to 1/2 from  your original  CM6800 capacitor.
