Broadcom’s Qumran2c switch SoCs are ideal for carrier Ethernet, edge and core routers, mobile backhaul, data center cloud, transport and access market segments.
rQumran2c provides 2.4 Tb/s packet processing in a single device at high interface rates, while integrating a hierarchical traffic manager, scalable packet buffer memory, the Elastic Pipe™ packet processing and a scalable multi-terabit switch-to-switch mesh-fabric interface.
rIntegrated accelerators for carrier service management provide visibility and control for carrier networks and distributed data centers traversing the network.
rThis unique combination enables equipment makers to revolutionize the router equipment economics with a higher port density, lower power consumption and greater subscriber scale in a smaller physical system size.
rQumran2c supports standard implementation for Ethernet rates, scaling from 1 Gigabit Ethernet to 100, 200 and 400 Gigabit Ethernet ports. Built-in InterLaken interfaces enable direct connectivity to external framers and processors.

The device supports low power, high bandwidth HBM packet memory offering up to 160X more traffic buffering compared with on-chip memory, enabling zero-packet-loss in heavily congested networks. In-field reconfigurable, flexible and elastic packet processing engines allow for customer-specific forwarding paradigms or future support of new and emerging protocols. On-chip hierarchical traffic management ensures per-subscriber bandwidth guarantees, required by carrier networks to deliver on service level agreements (SLAs).
