is a high performance linear regulatorwith very low dropout voltage and excellent transientresponse. It is designed to operate with wide inputvoltage range of 1.5 - 7Volts making it ideal for twostep conversion while maintaining high efficiency formany power sensitive applications. The device iscapable of supplying 2A of output current with atypical dropout voltage of 550mV at 2A. The productis available in either fixed or adjustable outputvoltage.The linear regulator has been optimized for noisesensitive applications. The device includes anEnable pin for electrical on/off of the regulator.Forcing the Enable pin to logic low shuts down theLDO and reduces the supply current to less than1µA.The product includes complete short-circuit andthermal protection. The combination of these twointernal protection circuits gives the device acomprehensive safety system to safe guard againstextreme adverse operating conditions.The AMS3120 is available in a thermally enhancedSOIC-8 EDP package, and it is rated for -40°C to+125°C temperature range.
