The Avago AFBR-77EVK evaluation kit is designed to provide designers with a convenient means of evaluating Avago MicroPOD™ 12x10G, 12x12.5G and 12x14G embedded optical transmitter/receiver modules. A downloadable user guide is available upon request, which provides full description of the evaluation kit and graphical user interface (GUI) along with basic operating instructions. The evaluation kit includes the following: A Tx Board with an AFBR-77D1SZ Tx Module A Rx Board with an AFBR-78D1SZ Rx Module Necessary Optical Connectors and Cables for Establishing a Data Link iPort I2C Communication Interface and a MicroPOD Viewer GUI on CD Two Pairs of SMP-to-SMA Cables A Snap-and-Go Extraction Tool Access to Low Speed Signals (i.e., Int_L, Reset_L) 24 Side-mounted SMP Connectors for Connecting to 12 Differential Tx or Rx High Speed Lanes on Each Evaluation BoardThe evaluation kit supports higher speed set of MicroPOD modules which can be purchased separately. A list of Avago MicroPOD embedded optical transmitter/receiver modules supported by the evaluation kit includes (but is not limited to) the following: 12x10G Tx/Rx Module Set: AFBR-77D1SZ and AFBR-78D1SZ 12x12.5G Tx/Rx Module Set: AFBR-77D2SZ and AFBR-78D2SZ 12x14G Tx/Rx Module Set: AFBR-77D3SZ and AFBR-78D3SZAFBR-77EVB and AFBR-78EVB evaluation boards provide the designer with a convenient way to evaluate the electrical and optical performance of the Avago Technologies' Twelve-Channel MicroPOD transmitter and receiver modules.
