The 12 Gbps Adaptec® Series 8 RAID 8405 adapter has 4 internal native ports SAS/SATA ports in a x8 PCIe Gen 3 low-profile, MD2 form factor.Built on Microchip's 12 Gbps RAID-on-Chip (ROC), Series 8 adapters deliver maximum reliability and performance that all RAID levels come to expect, plus unique features like flexible configuration, hybrid RAID, and Optimized Disk Utilization (ODU) to provide high I/O transaction and high bandwidth processing solutions that reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs.With optional Zero Maintenance Cache Protection (ZMCP), the Series 8 8405 offers full protection to cached data with no monitoring, maintenance, disposal, or replacement costs. ZMCP features SLC based NAND flash memory with super capacitor technology. During a system power loss, the flash memory-based cache protection can preserve data for years.Third-generation AFM-700 flash-based cache protection module enables instant battery-free cache protection.Series 8 adapters have broad operating system support and ecosystem compatibility, are easy to implement and scale, and maxView management tools and drivers enable easy manageability.
