Toshiba TLP170AM and_TLP170GM Photorelays consist of an infrared LED coupled to a photo-MOSFET. TLP170AM and_TLP170GM are housed in a 4-pin SO6 package, and_are suitable for surface-mount assembly. They are ideal for battery management systems that have space limitations. These products feature a maximum trigger LED current of 1mA that reduces input side power loss by increasing the sensitivity of the photodiode array. Also, by having no movable contacts, photorelays are known to have better long-term reliability than mechanical relays.
The TLP170AM and_TLP170GM Photorelays have an operating temperature range of -20°C to +85°C, and_are UL and_cUL recognized and_VDE approved.
